Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. This is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for ages. Guests from each of the neighboring states pile in passenger cars and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that instance, twenty three of the 39 Indian tribes of Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gambling rules, and at this time operate ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. Electronic games such as slots weren’t authorized, owing to the fact that they’re believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma rules have changed to allow for big American Indian gambling gambling halls. You will now find American Indian casinos with slot machines, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet authorized in the Amerindian gambling dens yet, but this is simply a matter of time.
